Copacabana, Bolivia
The Beautiful city showed itself after driving through mountains and rivers to get to it. It was located at Lake Titicaca and had a view over Peru. Here we had the most Bohemian hotel room imaginable. It was one big room with a small kitchen and a sofa with a panoramic view over the lake. Furthermore, a jacuzzi, a dome with a window looking up at the stars, and a small fireplace. I Loved it! We spent most of the day recovering from our long drive and relaxing in the Jacuzzi.
Yum
They were all about trout by the pier; they had grilled, steamed, boiled, fried, whole, or deboned. We had fried with a garlic sauce, homemade fries, and a small salad. When we walked around, you could tell that the city was a fishermen’s city. Everywhere they mainly served fish; even at the small stalls, women would stand with their wheelbarrows covered with thick blankets covering all kinds of dishes. Here you could sit, and she would serve you a plate of your choosing; not knowing what she said, we did get some breaded pork (I think), rice, and salad. Others sat with soups, fried fish, and chicken—the atmosphere around the stand with all the locals where perfect. We also tried another one where we had avocado sandwiches with fried egg, mayo, peeled tomato, and Peruvian cheese.
Lucky
Unfortunately, we couldn’t withdraw any cash in the city, so we went on rather quickly. But on the lake, you can go to Isla del Sol, where some old Inka ruins are. It is said that the Inkas used to start their journey there and walk to Machupicchu. We Go from here on our way to Cusco up the mountain, through the pass to the wonders of an old ruin preserved through time.
